Scattered
Well, once again I'm inspired to dabble in another side of art - webcomics. Pamo has inspired me once again. Visit her site if you have a chance.
This is a tryout. I actually made it a bit too big to scan - so here's what the formatting looks like, snapped from my cell phone:
Every now and then, in between fine art works (at least I hope they're fine!) I may do a comic or two, and play with different styles, etc. I have some ideas - this was, in my mind, the least funny of the lot (although hopefully still funny) so I figured I'd start here. Hope you liked it!
I have another painting that needs an ever-so-minor touch-up first, that I'll post next.

Terrific, I can get my inspiration, motivation and insight, in comic form, from the two of you! Love it!
ReplyDeleteTall orders for comics, but we're up to the task. Thanks!
DeleteDan- This is BRILLIANT!!!! I laughed so hard!!! I simply LOVELOVELOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteI got up this morning and there it was in my email. What a GREAT way to kick off the day. So funny and SO TRUE!!!
I personally hope you continue with the comics because you have a real talent for it. We could do a comic challenge... pick a topic, then have dueling comics. Just a thought.
Anyway- thank you for brightening my day! I suspect a LOT OF PEOPLE will laugh and love this too!
Go Dan!!!
(And thanks for the mention too. :-) )
Pssst. Here's a secret. These days comics are quite interesting to me - interesting enough that I may make another blog for comics. I don[t know if I'll do it regularly, but at least then I'll have a forum to post. This blog isn't the place for it. This is for my paintings, etc. Dueling comics is a wonderful idea. We shall see...
DeleteThanks for the inspiration! And your enthusiasm!
Well young man... that would be terrific! I hope you do!!!
DeleteAnd your welcome. Thank you for your encouragement too. It has always been a huge help!
Really funny, beautifully drawn, clever and well observed - great comic!
ReplyDeleteThank you! And well analyzed - I appreciate it!
DeletePhew. I was getting Very Worried about grandpa. Keep going Dan.
ReplyDeleteI am so very glad you were Very Worried about grandpa. In the first panel I tried to give the impression, conscious or unconscious, of a wheelchair. Thanks!
DeleteMy h has a saying "there is a little bit of truth in all kidding". I think there is a LOT of truth in this toon. I can relate to it! Glad to see you doing comics again...I love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad - thanks Celeste!
DeleteGreat inspiration and glad you are trying other venues for your creativity.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to have many ways to be creative, I think, then if one day one avenue feels stale, I can turn to another. Thanks!
DeleteLove it! Very funny.
ReplyDeleteThat's all I need to hear. Thanks!
DeleteI enjoyed this, not the ending I expected. Good idea by pamo !
ReplyDeleteMighty glad you didn't expect that ending! :) Thanks!
DeleteExcellent Dan… Pamo is a favorite cartoon artist of mine too… and it's good to see you still keep your hand in at it too. This one is funny and so true… the root of a good comic is a universally recognizable truth, told in a funny way.
ReplyDeleteAnd this comic kinda shows my roots. Thanks, Captain!
DeleteAwesome cartoon Dan!
ReplyDeleteI'll take "awesome"! Thanks!
DeleteIt's great. (Can't see the phone snap for some reason)
