A Heart for Haiti

This is my Art Heart for Haiti. It is my hope that the kindness and sharing of the people of the world will help lift Haiti up.

If you would like to contribute a heart to Haiti too, there is still one day left. Your art heart is to be the size of an Art Trading Card (2.5" x 3.5" or 3.5 x 2.5") Visit Painted Thoughts for more details.

  1. It's a very cool design Dan! I love how you illustrated that a big heart could help to lift all the troubles and weights that's been laid on this beautiful land. My heart and wishes to the people who are suffering there too.
Great choice of colors, and beautiful lines, I still can't get over how well the design is. ^^

  6. I hate to sound like a California stereotype. I really do. But what I said when I saw this was, "OH DUDE!!!" This is phenomenal! Absolutely wonderful. The concept is too good to even think about topping! (and I know that's not what it's all about...but still...) This is right up there with the Pepsi commercial of the people breaking down the Berlin Wall while the Hallelujah Chorus played. You have made me cry. And I am not lying.

  11. Greetings Dan,

Your work expresses the essence most elegantly and as a fellow artist, I appreciates your efforts and getting the word out.

  12. I am surprised and gratified that some of you were so moved. It is a horrifying circumstance that these human beings find themselves in - I cannot even imagine it. It was difficult to find a way to express it and incorporate a heart without being too maudlin. I did not want to simply paint an arty heart. That would not do the situation justice, I thought. This was a departure from what I have been doing, and my first ATC. Thank you all for your kind and supportive words.
