I'm tired today - can't think of much of anything to say.
Not a single thing. Not even these words. The thoughts fly away
Like sound-startled birds. Like wind-blown balloons
That follow no path, that delight or confound, maybe usher a laugh.
The thoughts don't know when. They don't even know how.
I don't know what I'm saying so I think I'll stop now.
[Psst.. that's right. My poem has absolutely nothing to do with the ink and watercolor sketch of this poor, unsuspecting family above. It just goes to show - there is truth in poetry. .. Now, off to bed.]

ReplyDeleteI hope your schedule eases up soon! But, I think being tired can bring out some creative elements because this poem is very reflective of your mood. Wonderful sketch and the colors are great. Love how much depth you've captured through the archway!

ReplyDeleteSorry you are so tired. It's a nice sketch and sometimes it's best to just let yourself be as tired as you feel. Don't make sense of it. Hope you find the rest you need though so you can enjoy your thoughts with your paintings.

Thank you all so much - encouraging, as always. I am grateful that some of you had favorite individuals in the group I sketched - makes me know that all are okay (had doubts about two of them). Thanks to those of you who liked the verse as well. Thanks Jim for the info - I've sort of let flickr slide, myself - guess I should jump back in.
